Protecting Children at Risk of Abuse and Neglect

We are committed to strengthen child abuse prevention and protecting victims of child abuse in order to create a safe environment for their growth and rights.

Major Projects

  • Support specialized child protection agencies
  • Conduct a research on and publish documents related to child abuse prevention
  • Partner with various organizations for effective prevention of child abuse
  • Develop and evaluate programs for child abuse prevention
  • Provide training programs to staff members of specialized child protection agencies and abused children's shelters, and public officials dealing exclusively with child abuse
  • Introduce education programs on child abuse prevention and increase public awareness
  • Support the operation of the National Child Abuse Information System

What is Child Abuse?

  • Child abuse refers to any physical, emotional, or sexual maltreatment or neglect by adults, including caregivers, resulting in actual or potential harm to children’s health or wellbeing (Article 3(7) of the Child Welfare Act)
